kai leng was super lame in a variety of different ways but i might have liked him if only the game acknowledged him being kind of terrible :(c and at least have sent a few more passive-aggressive emails so he actually kinda felt like a rival instead of a tacked-on obstacle.
or if he was like in his fifties and had a full beard and sunken cheeks instead of pouty model babyface, then he would have been COOL

they aren’t a hivemind. reapers capable of independent thought like the destroyers might be united in their mission to continue their cycle of extinction and rebirth, but different ships might have their own opinions and personalities that do not necessarily match up perfectly with the rest of the fleet.
harbinger might simply have liked humans too much and wanted only their likeness to be present in the next generation of reapers. or it could have been a sympathizer instead, who thought as long as they wiped out a scapegoat species the others may survive to another cycle, being “too primitive” to exterminate. in any case it also seemed to be interested in shepard on a personal level for some reason while the other reapers who talked didn’t give a fuck.
